Comments:

I worked in GCS and T&D in Bldg 63 from 1978 to 1981 in Product Marketing on the 4061 and 4125 projects. I left in 1981, went to HP in Corvallis and launched several new "personal computers" and peripherals. Was recruited by DEC in 1983, they moved me back to Hudson, Mass. to manage a group that introduced of the MicroVAX line of OEM board and chip level products. Traveled worldwide for them getting design wins at various OEMs. Was recruited by National Semi in 1985 to head up the NS32032 group back in Oregon to build competing products to what I was doing at DEC. They moved me back across the US, paid me a big bonus and gave me some significant stock options. 9 months later they laid most of us off and cashed us out of our options. I spent the next year trying to start up a company to build modular OEM "32-bit computer on a board" systems to sell to companies like Mentor Graphics who were trying to create their own hardware brand. When the seed money ran out I went to work for Synektron locally as Director of Marketing and Sales working for a guy I met while I was at National. That only lasted about a year and in 1988 I went to work as a Marketing Manager at a subsidiary of UPS in Salem called IIMorrow, Inc that made aviation navigation equipment which was modified for use in UPS trucks to provide real-time package tracking. I left there in 1992 to form my own advertising agency where we sold MARCOM services to former employers like TEK and HP, and others like Intel and Planar who were outsourcing product brochures and print advertising. That went well until 1999 when software products like Photoshop and Pagemaker made it possible for most companies to do a lot of that in-house.....

I got my real estate license in 1999. Began with RE/MAX and since have been with Oregon First Realty since 2004, which is Oregon's 2nd largest brokerage with Approx. 500 agents. I also own and operate Tigard String Studio where I teach private music lessons in Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo and Violin. I have a full recording studio in my home and have self produced 9 albums (CD's) .

As of this date (5-23-22) I am semi-retired. I still teach private music lessons part time and drive a bus for TRI-MET part time to get the medical insurance coverage for myself and my wife. Still into hotrods and motorcycles. Just bought the latest generation mid-engine Corvette.

School Story:

Many of you don't know, but I was the source of some pretty (im)famous loudspeaker pages in bldg 63 during my tenure there. On slow afternoons I could generate some pretty good laughter throughout the building by calling the switchboard receptionist and asking her locate a visitor to the building by paging names like "Ms. Connie Lingus", or "Mr Hugh Jardon" or "Mr Dick Gizinia", and others....... ;-)

I think the switchboard operators (or management) eventually caught on, because the building wide paging requests stopped being done a while later.......

2005 Viper. Bought in 2008. Just sold in August 2011 to buy the Green 2009 Below.

2009 Viper in "Snakeskin Green" Pearlcoat. Very rare car. Only 2 or 3 convertibles ever build with TAN LEATHER interior and Tan canvas top. 2005 had 500 HP. This one has 600 HP and actually gets better gas mileage than the 2005. Not that any Viper owner really cares......... 14MPG vs 11MPG for the 0lder one........
